Smith and the Falcons part ways

Contrary to earlier reports, it seems as though the Falcons will not be signing Philadelphia tight end L.J. Smith. The AJC's Orlando Ledbetter is reporting that the Falcons and Smith have closed negotiations and that Atlanta will not be signing Smith citing his poor blocking ability as a reason they reconsidered. It now seems that the tight end position will be one of the things the Falcons look to address in this year's draft.
